The school’s Ninth Grade Academy assists freshmen as they make the transition from middle to high school by focusing on academics within a ninth grade setting. Baldwin High offers students the opportunity to experience college-level coursework while remaining at the high school campus though Advanced Placement courses. Students may elect to participate in joint enrollment programs with the area’s postsecondary educational institutions, allowing them to earn high school and college credits simultaneously. A strong and innovative career/technology program provides opportunities for participation in industry certified programs, internships and co-ops. Like the traditional academic joint enrollment program, career tech students may earn high school and college credits though joint/dual enrollment with one of Georgia’s technical colleges. For students with strong interests in the performing and fine arts, a diploma endorsement in fine arts is available to enhance their development.

GEORGIA MILITARY COLLEGE PREP SCHOOL – GRADES 3-12

GMC Prep School is focused on “developing the intellect and elevating the character” of the students we serve.  GMC Prep has held true to the same mission since its inception in 1879 and defines “student success” as graduating educated, contributing citizens who possess both the academic skills and character traits needed to be successful at their chosen college/university and in life. The fact that our purpose has sustained and guided us for over 135 years provides evidence that parents, students, and faculty continue to choose our school precisely for the very reason we exist.  Our stakeholders choose GMC Prep School because they understand, support, and believe in our version of “student success.”

GEORGIA MILITARY COLLEGE

Since its establishment in 1879, Georgia Military College (GMC) has been a recognized leader providing a character-based higher education, improving students’ personal well-being and giving them hope for a brighter future.  This is evident in its enrollment during this last decade as GMC has experienced unprecedented growth in their number of students. Under the leadership of former GMC President, Major General Peter Boylan (1992-2013), and current GMC President, Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell, IV (2013-present), the college has grown not only its program offerings, but has expanded its campus footprint across the state, and seen significant increase in enrollments of the Global Online Campus. As a result, The Chronicle of Higher Education recognized Georgia Military College as the 18th Fastest Growing Associate and Baccalaureate/Associate College in the Nation, 2007-2017. Based on that ranking, GMC is also the #1 fastest growing public institution in the state of Georgia. In addition to offering Bachelor of Applied Science degree programs, GMC has transfer agreements with 48 four-year colleges and universities so that if desired, any GMC student can continue their education at another school with ease. The education GMC affords students demonstrates the value GMC adds to the higher education environment in Georgia, and beyond.
